Maison de naissance du Lac-Saint-Louis Birth Centre
The Lac-St-Louis Birth Centre, located on the 3rd floor of the CLSC du Lac-Saint-Louis, is a community birthing home where teams of midwives have been providing comprehensive maternity care for over 28 years.
Since 1994, more than 5,000 babies have been brought into the world by midwives at this community birthing centre.
The Lac-St-Louis Birth Centre has a homelike feel with four cozy birthing rooms, a kitchen and a living room! Meals and snacks are available at all times for both the mother-to-be and their partner.
A birth attendant is present during the birth and is there for the duration of the 24-hour postnatal stay. Kind, caring and trained to help mothers with latching and breastfeeding, if necessary, the birth attendant is a comforting and supportive presence.
Midwives do postpartum visits in the first week after delivery. Additional follow-ups are then done at the birth centre until the 6th week.
