Youth in Difficulty


Are you a parent whose relationship with their child or children aged 6 to 17 years old is challenging? Are you concerned about their behaviours and lifestyle? Do you feel like you’re out of resources?

Are you 17 years old or younger and going through challenges at home or at school?

Our team is here to help you and/or refer you to resources that can provide support in cases of: 

  • Conflict/Difficult family relationship
  • Isolation
  • Bullying
  • Grief 
  • Heartbreak
  • Dropping out
  • Adjustment issues 
  • Behavioural issues
  • Discipline and crisis management
  • Managing family life (routines, rules)

Please note: If you are over 14 years old, your parents’ consent is preferred but not required. 


How can the Youth in Difficulty team help you?

Assessing your needs

  • Advice and interventions based on a plan developed with the young person and/or the family
  • Individual, family, and group follow-ups
  • Referral to local resources that can help

The Youth in Difficulty team consists of:

  • A social worker
  • A human relations officer (HRO)
  • Other psychosocial workers who are there to support your family’s well-being!

Please note: The professionals of the Youth in Difficulty team collaborate with community and school partners to provide the support you need.
