Youth in Difficulty


Are you a parent whose relationship with their child or children aged 6 to 17 years old is challenging? Are you concerned about their behaviours and lifestyle? Do you feel like you’re out of resources?

Are you 17 years old or younger and going through challenges at home or at school?

The Youth in Difficulty team is here to support and help you with issues such as:  

  • Mental health
  • Conflicts
  • Discipline and crisis management
  • Organization of the family environment (routines, rules)
  • Isolation
  • Dropping out of school
  • Adjustment problems
  • Behavioural problems

or whatever else is troubling you


How does it work?

Contact us! You can either:

  1. Drop by or call the psychosocial intake at your local CLSC.
  2. Call Info-Social by dialling 811, select option 2.

During a session:

  • Sessions are voluntary, free and confidential!
  • One on one, family or group sessions

The Youth in Difficulty team member will:

  • Assess your needs
  • Help you develop coping skills
  • Help you come up with real solutions
  • Help you find the right service if needed

The Youth in Difficulty team works closely with school and community partners.

If you are over the age of 14, getting your parents’ consent is encouraged, but not required. Parental consent, however, is mandatory for those under the age of 14.
