The Musculoskeletal Clinic is staffed by physiotherapists and occupational therapists whose goals are to:
- Improve the functional autonomy and social functioning of their patients.
- Direct patients toward the most appropriate services based on their needs.
Who can access this clinic
- Adults (18 years and older) with musculoskeletal disorders (MSD)*
- Patients on the waiting list for a consult with a medical specialist (orthopedics, neurosurgery, physical medicine)
*Pediatric patients may be admissible following an assessment.
How to access of the clinic services
You cannot contact the clinic for an appointment directly. You need a referral from your family physician to access this service.
If you are eligible for treatment at the clinic, the team will contact you. Wait times depend on the waiting list and availability.
Care and Services Available
- An initial evaluation by a physiotherapist and a choice of approach
- A treatment plan developed in collaboration with the patient
- Short-term follow-ups
- Recommendations on recovery
- Referrals to services within the CIUSSS or in the community
The number of sessions varies according to the patient’s needs.
