Care and Services Available in English
As per Québec’s Act Respecting Health Services and Social Services, all healthcare institutions in Québec must provide their services in French. However, some people may prefer to speak English and have the right to receive services in that language.
The Québec government has designated certain CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal facilities to also provide all of their health and social services in English to anglophones.
The designated facilities are:
- Grace Dart Extended Care Centre
- Centre d’hébergement Denis-Benjamin-Viger
- St. Mary’s Hospital Centre
- CLSC de Pierrefonds
- CLSC du Lac-Saint-Louis
- Lakeshore General Hospital
- Douglas Mental Health University Institute
- Batshaw Youth and Family Centres
- Ste. Anne’s Hospital
At all of its other facilities, the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal has implemented an Access to English Health and Social Services program, which respects its values and mission as well as those of the Ministère de la Santé et de Services sociaux.
Consult the Access to English Health and Social Services Program.
