Infection Prevention and Control—We Made an App for That!
A new mobile app, created in-house, collects data from hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and environmental quality assurance audits. Dashboards developed to monitor the results from this app show that 90% of all paper audits have been eliminated. This change in practice considerably reduces the time needed to compile the data and eliminates the risk of errors that can occur when manually transcribing the data from the paper audits to online tools.
Nataliya Dragieva, Planner—Programming and Research with the Quality, Assessment, Performance, and Ethics Directorate, and Amir Chitour, Interim Manager—Infection Prevention and Control, proudly presented this new tool at the Colloque performance et valorisation des données, held at the Centre des congrès de Québec on March 23.
It’s an excellent example of the technological innovation and agility here at our CIUSSS. Congratulations!
A number of participants from other CISSS and CIUSSS showed particular interest in this new tool. They hope to meet with its creators to learn more and possibly implement the app within their own organizations.
