Preventing Infections in the Community

    The Community Infection Prevention Team (brigade) is available to support partners and caseworkers with any questions and situations related to infectious diseases. 
    Some of the infectious diseased we can help with include: 
    • Respiratory viruses
    • Gastroenteritis
    • Measles
    • Lice
    • Scalp ringworm 
    • Lyme Disease
    • Among other Infectious Diseases

    Who can use our services

    • Daycares (CPEs, private or subsidized daycares, daycares in family settings)
    • Community organizations working with young people (ages 0–24)
    • Professional schools, CEGEPs

    Elementary and high schools should contact their school nurse.

    What our team can provide

    •  Assessment by a nurse and current recommendations
    • Tools (promotional campaigns, outbreak kits, exclusion criteria, etc.)
    • Instructional letters to provide to parents as needed
    • Follow-ups after outbreaks
    • Liaison with Public Health if needed
    • And more!

    Depending on our assessment of the situation, we can come on site (examples: outbreaks, upon request, prevention activities, etc.).
