Action Jeunesse Ouest-de-l’Île, in collaboration with the City of Dorval, has opened a warming centre at the Dorval Terminus. Financing was provided by the federal government’s Reaching Home program.
The centre will provide safe overnight shelter for people in the area who are experiencing homelessness during the extreme cold weather. The centre can accommodate up to 10 people each night from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. It will remain open until March 31, 2025.
The centre provides access to:
- A heated shelter
- Clean toilets
- Warm clothing
- Individualized support from a streetwork team on site.
