On April 10, surrounded by health professionals, students and members of the media, the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal proudly inaugurated its Centre for Simulation and Learning at the Lakeshore General Hospital. A concrete example of technological innovation at the service of healthcare education!
Through the use of advanced technologies, students, residents and clinical professionals from across our CIUSSS can take part in simulations that replicate various complex clinical situations. Such simulations allow for training opportunities that are comprehensive and adapted to real-life situations in an environment that is safe and collaborative. As a result, the staff acquires knowledge and skills that can be applied in clinical settings, leading to more effective interventions and an optimized patient experience.
The Centre for Simulation is equipped with high fidelity manikins, pediatric and neonatal simulators as well as laparoscopy and ultrasound simulators.
