My experience at the Lakeshore General Hospital began in February 2023, with an initial consultation with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Pascale Thibaudeau. Since she already had all the required results on hand (x-ray and MRI), she was able to confirm that I needed hip surgery.  Given that I can count on my husband for help at home, I was quickly added to the waiting list for day surgery.  

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience and the team that took care of me from start to finish. On April 13, I was warmly welcomed by the staff at the hospital’s Pre-Op Testing Unit. A few weeks later, I was given a detailed explanation of the surgery. My operation was performed at 8 am on May 10. Today, I received a very pleasant follow-up call to schedule an appointment for physiotherapy. While this procedure may be routine for the members of the various healthcare teams, the level of efficiency that I witnessed during this experience continues to be a source of reassurance.

The efficiency, collaboration and energy among the team members in each of the departments is just wonderful. I feel so relieved, like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
