Since his appointment in February, our new President and CEO Dan Gabay quickly shown us who he is. He considers himself to be very hands-on and wants to be close to the thousands of employees working throughout our CIUSSS. Since his arrival, Mr. Gabay has gone to meet with our colleagues at a number of facilities and he intends to be in regular contact with the staff.

He has recently visited the Hôpital de LaSalle, the Lakeshore General Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital Center, and Ste. Anne’s Hospital. During these visits he had the opportunity to discuss staffing shortages and the impact they have on the personnel. “I want to highlight the incredible work being done by our teams on site. I know the efforts you are making each day and the challenges you are faced with. You have my heartfelt thanks, both on my own behalf and on behalf of those you are caring for. You are essential to the care and services we provide to the communities within our territory, and I can assure you that we are working hard to add new members to your teams as soon as possible!”—Dan Gabay

Our President and CEO is actively working with our Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs to quickly find solutions and address these shortfalls, in particular by hiring future graduates. Our CIUSSS is taking a very pro-active approach, especially on social media, and a recruitment campaign for interns in residential facilities will be launched shortly. 

In the coming months, the Mosaïk team will be following Mr. Gabay’s tour of the many facilities within our CIUSSS so that we can share his impressions.
