A second Designated COVID-19 Follow-Up Clinic is opening for residents on the Western tip of the Island of Montréal

The Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal is proud to announce the opening of a second appointment-only Designated COVID-19 Follow-Up Clinic (CDE) on its territory.

Designated Follow-Up Clinic - West Island, is mandated to provide follow-up care to those presenting with flu-like symptoms, gastroenteritis, or COVID-19 symptoms, or who has COVID-19, and who would like to see a primary care provider.

People experiencing such symptoms, regardless of whether or not they have a family physician, and who feel they need a medical consultation, should simply call 1-877-644-4545. They will be clinically evaluated over the phone by a nurse who will then direct them to the appropriate resources. It is imperative that people call for an appointment before coming to the clinic, as they will be turned away if they do not have an appointment.

The new appointment-only CDE is a complementary measure for cases that are not considered severe. Patients who test positive for COVID-19 and who require hospitalization will continue to be transferred to one of the designated hospitals.

We would like to reiterate that regular hand washing with soap and water is the most effective hygiene measure to prevent the transmission of all infections.

All other front-line care settings are responsible for providing services to those clients who do not have flu-like symptoms, gastroenteritis, or other symptoms similar to those of COVID-19. Please contact your family physician or neighbourhood clinic if necessary.
