Operational Stress Injury: a point of service for Veterans in Longueuil

Ms. Sherry Romanado, Member of Parliament for Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, joined Gaétan Barrette, Quebec Minister of Health and Social Services on august 6th to inaugurate the new Operational Stress Injury (OSI) satellite service site in Longueuil.

Even though it is located outside of our territory, this satellite service is managed by our CIUSSS and funded by Veterans Affairs Canada.

When a Veteran is in need, timely access to mental health services is key. The new satellite service site will address the increased demand for OSI Clinic services in the greater Montréal area. A team of three clinicians, a psychiatrist, an administrative assistant and a security agent is operating out of the new space which can be expanded as needed.

Congratulations to the team for all of the work that has led to quickly establishing this point of service and to all the directorates who collaborated in the implementation of the project which constitutes a vital need for our Veterans and their families.
