Opening of a Designated COVID-19 Follow-Up Clinic on the Territory of the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal

The Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal is pleased to announce the opening today of an appointment-only Designated COVID-19 Follow-Up Clinic (CDE).

The Clinique désignée d’évaluation Cité médicale Lachine, is mandated to provide follow-up care to those people presenting with flu-like symptoms, gastroenteritis, or COVID-19 symptoms who would like to see a primary care provider. This allows all services to be clustered in a single location and allows for a more complete response to patients’ needs.

Anyone—including those people who have a family physician—experiencing such symptoms who feels they need to see a primary care provider can call for an appointment at 1-877-644-4545. Callers will be clinically evaluated by a nurse who will then direct them to the appropriate resources. It is imperative that people call for an appointment before coming to the clinic, as they will be turned away if they do not have an appointment.

This new CDE is a complementary measure for cases that are not deemed severe. Patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and who require hospitalization will continue to be transferred to one of the designated hospitals.

We would like to reiterate that regular hand washing with soap and water is the most effective hygiene measure to prevent the transmission of all infections.

All other front-line care settings are responsible for providing services to those clients who do not have flu-like symptoms, gastroenteritis, or other symptoms similar to those of COVID-19.
