This year, the Lac-Saint-Louis Community Birthing Home, in Pointe-Claire, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a video was made to promote the Centre’s services and the expertise of their midwives. It also aims to showcase the warm environment into which mothers and their families will welcome their newborn.
The Lac-Saint-Louis Community Birthing Home is located at the CLSC of the same name. It opened its doors in 1994 as a pilot project. Since then, the Centre has been providing comprehensive support to pregnant women and their families. The support provided includes complete follow-up from the beginning of pregnancy to six weeks after delivery. The team of midwives helps to deliver more than 300 babies per year.
The video is available on our Facebook page.
You can learn more about the role of midwives by attending an information session offered by the Centre. This also provides an opportunity to visit the community birthing home and interact with the midwives. For the information session schedule, click here.
