Every year, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Action on Patient Safety celebrates World Patient Safety Day. Our IUHSSC is proud to take part in these celebrations. The theme chosen for this year is "Health Worker Safety: A Priority for Patient Safety". We will use this day as an opportunity to show our collective commitment to the safety of patients, users, residents, Veterans, and health workers.
Participate and sign up for the webinar offered by the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI), which will feature a documentary (in English only) that showcases the 17-year impact of the CPSI, followed by an expert panel discussion on this year’s theme.
For our IUHSSC, user safety means the prevention and reduction of consequences associated with the provision of health care and social services, as well as the use of best practices that lead to optimal user outcomes. Our vision is aligned that of the CPSI, and the desire to build a system that is safer for everyone.
Stay tuned for the next edition of Patient Safety Week, to be held from October 26 to 30, for the upcoming unveiling of the week’s events.
