Mission

To ensure real integration of services provided to the population, each IUHSSC: 

  • is at the core of a Réseau Territorial de Services (RTS)
  • is responsible for ensuring the delivery of healthcare services to the population in its health and social service territory, including the public health aspect
  • takes on populational responsibility towards the population in its health and social services territory
  • oversees the organization of services and complimentary services in its territory as part of its multiple missions, according to the needs of the population and its territorial realities
  • enters into agreements with other facilities and partner organizations of the Réseau Territorial de Services (university hospitals, medical clinics, family medicine groups, network clinics, community agencies, community pharmacies, external partners, etc.)

The 5 major missions of the Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre: 

  • 4 local community service centres (CLSC) 
  • 4 hospital centres (CH): 3 hospitals that provide general and specialized care, and one psychiatric hospital 
  • 8 residential and long-term care centres (CHSLD) 
  • 2 rehabilitation centres (CR): one for people with intellectual disabilities or a pervasive development disorder (CRDITED) and one rehabilitation centre for youth with adjustment problems 
  • 1 child and youth protection centre (DPJ)
