Breast cancer

Do you need information on breast cancer screening, osteoporosis or menopause? The Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (MWI IUHSSC) promotes a comprehensive approach to women’s health.

To get a mammogram (breast X-ray), you must obtain a requisition from your doctor.

Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program

If you are between 50 and 69 years of age, you will automatically receive a letter in the mail from the Direction of Public Health encouraging you to have a mammogram in a designated screening centre. The letter serves as a medical prescription. The day of the appointment, you will be asked to fill out a consent form. You will then be registered with the Québec Breast Cancer Screening Program and you will be reminded to get a mammogram every two years.
