Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ID-ASD)

Mandate

The ID-ASD program combines the services intended to meet the needs of individuals suffering from intellectual disability, global development delay or by autism spectrum disorder. The services of this program aim to reduce the impact of the disability on the person and his family, compensate for the incapacity and support integration and social participation. The program’s mandate is to guarantee this clientele access to services intended for the general population as well as access to specialised and ultra-specialised services.

Services

Psychosocial evaluations, support for the individual and the family, information-orientation-support towards appropriate resources, needs assessment in terms of babysitting respite, management of the Financial Assistance Program for Domestic Help Services.

  • Person with an intellectual disability (ID).
  • Person with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Youth with a global developmental disorder (GDD).
  • Family or caregivers.

Access procedure

The person and/or family can go to the Psychosocial intake of the MWI IUHSSC for an assessment of their needs and to be referred to the program.
